Viaje Cá Dentro-Sintra
Sintra

Adeus Sintra !
The item Travel in here has returned, and even if it was not good, it is one of the lines that give me the most pleasure of writing, perhaps because it is also the most Nationalist, perhaps because it is a medium that I have to make known to the people of portugal. Proud to be a son.
This time I bring one of the most emblematic places, in my opinion, of this whole small country, my charming and ghostly town of Sintra.
Less than two weeks ago, after hours and hours of tiring classes, I was challenged by my colleagues to go to Sintra Casa da Piriquita to eat pillows.
At first it seemed a bit megalomo-no once the classes end up killing me and I'm too tired for any kind of exits but by the way convinced me and today I'm here to report my City Tour for Sintra.
Located 30 kl from Lisbon, the village of Sintra is currently a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
(For more specific information enter the link - Sintra - UNESCO Heritage).
Replete with charm and magic, it is located in a Moorish region, on the Atlantic side, with lots of woods and palaces.
It is undoubtedly even in the eyes of the most conservative man a true scenario of fairy tales.
Sintra is one of the most popular towns among Portuguese and foreign visitors.
Celts, Moors and Portuguese royalty of the eighteenth century passed by, is currently one of the largest points of Portuguese tourism.
What to see in Sintra?
National Palace of Pena
Located on the top of Sintra's second highest point (above it only the Cruz Alta, at 528m), this palace seems to have really come out of a fairy tale but has its origins in the remodeling of a former convent of monks Jerónimos of Our Lady Of Pena,
Of 1511, built by King D. Manuel I who was in total abandonment
. In 1838 King D. Fernando II bought it and made a series of repairs, remodeling the upper floor, replacing the cells by larger rooms, among other works. In 1843 the king still enlarged the Palace in a new wing (New Palace).
In the areas surrounding the palace, the king had the Pena Park planted, with winding paths, pavilions and stone benches. Trees and other plants from around the world were used, and today the park is composed of more than five hundred species.
Address: Estrada da Pena, 5 km south.

Well of Quinta da Regaleira
Piriquita
Well I could continue to show you monuments in Sintra quite interesting as the monastery of the Capuchos, or even the Castle of the Moors, but my "sweet tooth" side does not allow me, and so decided to say choose Piriquita pastry for final suggestion !
"The bakery that was later to be known by Piriquita was founded in 1862, about 160 years ago. There they worked there Amaro dos Santos, a baker by profession and his wife Constância Gomes.
The name Piriquita comes from the nickname that D. Carlos I gave to Constância Gomes, based on his short stature. It was King D. Carlos I who encouraged the couple to make the famous Queijadas, a sweet that he enjoyed during his summers in Sintra. The success was immediate and soon the bakery turned into Pastry.
Over the course of 160 years, a lot has changed but a lot of things have remained the same, as have the quality of the products made and the family that is dedicated to serving its customers from all over the world. In the 1940s, while much of the world was shattered, a new treasure was born in Sintra. Constância Luísa Cunha, the founder's daughter, developed the Pillow, a cake filled with sweet egg and with an almond-shaped touch, but with the secret so well kept that only the direct family has access to the recipe of the filling.
Today in the fifth generation this is a rare case of surviving a family project. "

And so I close another trip inside, I hope very sincerely that you liked and how with
